Main Event

The main event for UFC Fight Night Paris is currently expected to see Ciryl Gane facing Tai Tuivasa, with the company reportedly telling ESPN’s Brett Okamoto that this was the plan as far back as May 2022.

Robert Whittaker will also be facing Marvin Vettori in a Middleweight contest. The Athletic confirmed that the company had the bout scheduled for the card in their first-ever Paris event.

Originally, Whittaker vs Vettori was meant to be taking place at UFC 275, but had to be cancelled due to an injury sustained by Whittaker.

Speaking to Ronny Lerner of Fox Sports Australia, Whittaker revealed that he is hoping for a trilogy fight against Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya, should he defeat Vettori in France.

He said: “I definitely think a trilogy is possible primarily because of the Holloway-Volkanovski trilogy fight going ahead. Especially considering how close my fight was with Izzy last time, I definitely think that is a very real possibility.”

“A third fight between me and Izzy is inevitable because I’m going to stomp anyone that comes in front of me again.

“He [Adesanya] knows that too that’s why he said he’ll be seeing me in the future. I don’t see him losing the belt any time soon. He is good. He is good. I think I’m the person to beat him. And my mission stays the same, beat the next guy in front of me.”
