In 2021/22, Manchester City won their fourth Premier League title in the space of just five years.

The Citizens pipped Liverpool to English football's biggest prize on the final day of the season thanks to an epic 3-2 comeback victory at home against Aston Villa.

City's success since their takeover in 2008 means that a number of players to have donned the sky blue jersey in the era feature in lists of the club's greatest ever servant.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher recently stated that he believes talismanic midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is the very best of them all, but the folks over at FourFourTwo don't see it that way.

In their list ranking City's greatest ever players, the Belgian superstar doesn't even make the top five - which is something of a surprise.

Let's take a look at their top 30...

21. Fred Tilson (1928-1938)

A very old-school feel to the first block of 10. Goater - who was a brilliant striker in his heyday - is the only player above to have represented City in the 21st century.

It's in the top 10 where we see a flurry of faces from City's post-takeover era, with Silva finishing top of the pile.

Micah Richards will certainly be happy about that, because he's stated many times that he thinks 'El Mago' is City's greatest ever player.

Bell takes the runner-up spot, with Aguero - the club's record goalscorer - completing the top three.

De Bruyne's sixth-place finish seems a tad harsh after what he's achieved at City in recent years and in terms of pure footballing ability, the club has never had a better footballer - in our opinion anyway.

And if the Belgian brings the Champions League trophy to the Etihad for the first time, he surely has to go down as the Citizens' GOAT, right?
