Thirty years on from the inception of one of the gaming industries dearest attractions, Mario Kart enters the latest stage of its continuous development and can now be played inside the kart!

So how has this come into fruition? Well, enter Super Nintendo World.

Nintendo-loving fans from across the globe can now experience some of the industries finest games at Universal Studio’s theme parks across the globe, with the attachment already operational at Universal Studios Japan and soon to be followed in its Universal Studios Hollywood counterpart, in California, next year.

Mario Kart is a nostalgic and thrilling video game that has been enjoyed by multiple generations, and the latest addition, titled ‘Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge’, offers the unique experience of stepping inside the ride and racing inside the kart.

The game itself offers a score of various classic Mario Kart courses, which the user can wind and weave around to compete against famous villain Bowser to earn points and clinch the Golden Cup.

The official description reads: “Ready to experience Mario Kart like never before? Put on the special goggles and battle Team Bowser on iconic Mario Kart courses alongside Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach. Collect coins and throw shells to win the Golden Cup on the world’s first interactive Mario Kart ride with cutting-edge technology at Super Nintendo World. Opens early 2023.”

With drivers able to relive some of their finest memories whilst playing the game, such as soaring through the clouds, forging through meandering underwater paths and steering through fiery castles, the newfound experience is certain to dazzle for adults and children alike.

The augmented reality attraction is simply a must for any fans of Nintendo and the Mario world, and with excellent reviews so far, Super Nintendo World and Bowser’s Challenge are certain to leave a trail of eager supporters stretching near and far.
