In the wake of the 2022 French Open, this Monday saw several tennis stars shift within the WTA rankings table.

World number one Iga Świątek continued her dominant reign after winning her second Grand Slam title at Roland-Garros.

The 21-year-old boasts a tremendous points lead in the top spot — sitting way out in front with more than 4,000 points between her and second place.

After another entertaining French Open, GiveMeSport Women looks at the most notable changes after the latest world rankings update.

Coco Gauff up 10 places

Coco Gauff enjoyed her best ever tournament run at Roland-Garros, reaching the first Grand Slam final of her career.

Prior to her performance in Paris, the 18-year-old American had never made it beyond the quarter-final of a tennis competition. But in the lead up to the final against Świątek, Gauff didn't drop a single set and banked wins against the likes of Elise Martens and Sloane Stephens.

She also reached the doubles final with compatriot Jessica Pegula, where the duo narrowly missed out on the title to Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic.

As a result of her impressive French Open run, Gauff has risen 10 places in the world rankings to number 13.

Anett Kontaveit climbs to second

A new world number two has been established in Anett Kontaveit.

After inching three places up the table, the Estonian has recorded her best ever ranking position.

Despite the fact she was eliminated from the French Open in the first round, other players ahead of her dropping points have helped nudge her further up the rankings.

This is a personal best for Kontaveit, although she is still a long way behind the unstoppable Świątek at the top of the tree.

Martina Trevisan biggest mover

The biggest move from the WTA rankings update sees Martina Trevisan shoot up an impressive 32 places.

The Italian has leapt into 25th place, overtaking the likes of Elina Svitolina and Naomi Osaka.

Trevisan marked her best career finish at a Grand Slam tournament after reaching the semi-finals of the French Open.

Dominant wins against Harriet Dart, Magda Linette and Daria Saville set the 28-year-old up for hard-fought victories over Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Leylah Fernandez.

Despite her strong run, Trevisan met her match when Gauff edged past her in the semi-final but the Italian's finish is certainly not one to be sniffed at.

Jessica Pegula breaks into top 10

Another American who impressed at Roland-Garros was Pegula, who partnered Gauff all the way to the women's doubles final.

The 28-year-old also enjoyed a strong singles run — she reached the quarter-final where she faced Świątek and lost 6-3, 6-2.

But despite falling short of the mark, Pegula has risen three places and has cracked the top ten for the first time in her career.

Her quarter-final finish at Roland-Garros is up there with other impressive results from 2022, including reaching the final of the Madrid Open and and the semi-final of the Miami Open.

Barbora Krejčíková suffers big drop

Former world number two Barbora Krejčíková has faced a hefty drop from her position behind Świątek in the world rankings.

Last year's French Open champion was unable to defend her crown this time round. In fact, she faced a shock first round loss to 19-year-old Diane Parry, who is currently ranked 82nd in the world.

Krejčíková claimed the first set against the French youngster but Parry's impressive comeback left the former champion stunned.

The Czech star has now slipped below the likes of Emma Raducanu, Danielle Collins and this year's runner-up Gauff.
