WWE’s Kane was one of the hardest, baddest, scariest wrestlers to enter the ring, making his debut in 1997.

Glenn Jacobs was the seven-foot-tall beast who portrayed the Kane character since his creation by the WWE and certainly intrigued fans with his mystery.

Known for his signature red and black mask, fans never got chance to see The Big Red Monster without it, until the infamous de-masking segment.

Rare footage, however, emerged after The Last Ride documentary was released, showing behind the scenes in 1997 and it has since been shared to YouTube. In it, you see Kane backstage, but he isn’t donning the famous mask.

There have been rumours that Kane has been played by numerous people given the changes to his body and therefore changes to how the mask looks.

However, this clip looks to have put those rumours to bed, with the changes to Jacobs more likely to be down to the body building and toll it’s put under as a WWE Superstar.

Kane was known as one of the most intimidating Superstars the WWE had to offer, compounding that by teaming up with half-brother The Undertaker to form most feared tag team in history.

Together, The Brothers of Destruction won the WCW World Tag Team Championship as well as two WWF Tag Team Championships.

Outside of his success with The Phenom, Kane was illustrious in his own right. He won a plethora of titles and accolades, including the WWF Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship.

The Big Red Monster never officially retired, so question marks still remain over whether or not Jacobs, 55, could still don his red and black overalls and mask again to entertain us all one more time! He is currently still signed to WWE, so anything could happen!

Since stepping away from the ring, Jacobs has pursued a career in politics, a long stretch from his once menacing persona in front of millions of adoring fans.

He’s been the Republican Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee since 2018, so his hands have been tied over any potential return.
