God of War Ragnarok: Thor actor reveals he has completed voiceover work

God of War Ragnarok is scheduled for release in 2022.

God of War Ragnarok is one of the biggest upcoming game releases of the year and the actor playing Thor has confirmed that he has finished his voiceover work for the release.

As per GamesRadar, Ryan Hurst, who is perhaps best known for his role in The Walking Dead, confirmed at Comic Con Revolution in May that he had finished up his voiceover work.

He said that he had finished recording “the last tiny bit of work for God of War”.

The interview was published on YouTube over the weekend and the interviewer, Steven Alvarez, later made it clear that he was talking about his voiceover work, not his motion capture role.

Hurst also spoke about the fact that God of War Ragnarok is a “super complex” piece of work, with a storyline equivalent to a “rich tapestry”.

The actor had never worked in a motion capture role before, and he claims that this experience was wholly unique.

Instead of wearing the suit that mo-cap actors usually wear, that is dotted with tiny balls, Hurst claims that he had a number of monitors dotted around him that would show exactly how his actions were translating to the character of Thor in the game’s engine.

Thor is also said to be “seven foot something” in the new game, which would make him taller than Kratos.

Kratos, per the report, stands at 6 foot 4, which would suggest that Thor is going to be a significant antagonist in God of War Ragnarok.

We can’t wait to see how that battle plays out, especially when one considers just how cinematic and epic some of the fights were in the first God of War when it released on PS4 all that time ago.
