Trent Alexander-Arnold's highlights of Liverpool teammates 'letting him down'

Liverpool’s remarkable season came to a bit of a disappointing end as they narrowly missed out on the Premier League and Champions League titles.

Having already bagged the Carabao and FA Cups, Liverpool went into the final week of the season dreaming of an unprecedented quadruple.

Sadly, that final week proved to be the dampest of damp squibs as Manchester City completed a remarkable comeback on the final day to clinch domestic glory while Thibaut Courtois shut the Reds out in Paris.

However, the fact that they were still in with a chance of a silverware clean sweep with just 15 minutes left in the Premier League season just goes to show what an incredible campaign it was.

After the shambles that was the year before, you can hardly doubt that a Liverpool fan would’ve snapped your hand off if you had offered them two trophies at the beginning of the season.

All around the pitch the stars in Red delivered – from Alisson at the back to Sadio Mane and and new signing Luis Diaz at the front.

It was Mohamed Salah, who had yet another ridiculous season, who would pick up the individual awards but the creative wizard that is Trent Alexander-Arnold was just as deserving.

Don’t believe us? Well maybe the below clip showing just how much the English full-back was let down over the course of the season by his teammates might change your mind.

Remarkable – it’s almost as if Trent’s vision and execution is always just a step ahead of his teammates and they can’t quite keep up.

Time and time again he laid the ball on a plate only to see his comrades fluff their lines or arrive on the scene just a split second too late.

Of course, Trent still managed to bag a flurry of assists, but just imagine what might’ve been had the men in the box in front of him been a little more on it.

It would be pure speculation to say that Liverpool would have four trophies in the cabinet instead of two but, having watched that footage, you simply can’t help but wonder what might have been.
