Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey has taken issue with game developer EA Sports over footage that was shown from their upcoming Madden 23 game.

With the NFL season less than 100 days away, teams are back in mini camp and getting themselves ready for the new campaign, but perhaps one of the bigger signs that the season is getting closer is the preview of the latest game in the series.

It was recently announced that legendary football coach and broadcaster John Madden, for who the game is named after, will be the cover ‘athlete’ for the latest edition of the game, as the developers look to honour him following his passing late in December 2021.

Along with the reveal of the cover, EA Sports have also been dropping previews of what the game is going to look like when it hit the shelves, but Marlon Humphrey of the Baltimore Ravens has taken issue with how they did it.

Humphrey becoming a force in the league

At the age of 25 and having been in the league for 5 years, Humphrey, who was a 1st round pick by the Ravens in the 2017 draft has emerged into one of the more dominant and feared safeties in the league.

He has racked up 276 tackles during his time in the NFL, that’s to go along with 64 pass deflections, 12 forced fumbles and 9 interceptions, giving opposing quarterbacks something to think about before they decide to throw the ball in his direction.

But despite that reputation, it doesn’t take too much for his reputation to be taken down a peg or two when it comes to playing a video game.

But the game isn’t treating him like one

In one of the trailers for the game, scheduled to be released later in the summer, Humphrey is shown being destroyed by Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb, something that the corner didn’t take too kindly to as he responded on social media:

With plenty of time before the game is released, maybe this was his way of demanding that they up his stats somewhat to make sure it doesn’t happen too often in the game.

But so long as it doesn’t happen in real life and he can dominate Chubb when he gets the chance, I’m sure he can let something like this slide.
