Glover Teixeira is set to defend his UFC Light Heavyweight Championship at UFC 275 on Saturday 11th June 2022, and the 205-pound king has stated that he is preparing “for war” ahead of his contest with Jiri Prochazka.

Prochazka enters the contest as the favourite over the 42-year-old Champion, but the determination of the Brazilian title holder is not in doubt ahead of his walk to the octagon in Singapore.

Teixeira is aware that he will be walking into a “war” in the main event of UFC 275, and both he and the challenger have discussed what they’re expecting on Saturday night.

Speaking on the UFC 275 promo video, the Light Heavyweight Champion said that “I’m going to go after this guy with everything that I got. It’s going to be a war.”

The challenger spoke to BJPENN.com’s Just Scrap Radio ahead of his main event contest, reiterating how much of a war he is expecting with the reigning 205-pound Champion.

He said: “I’m excited, I respect him because he’s a normal guy, a true warrior. He got the belt at his age, and he has beaten many guys and has won a lot of fights against young guys, strong guys. It’s amazing.

“Especially the Smith and Santos (wins). That is, the guy is in the best shape and he proved that he is a true champion. 

“But, my time is coming and I know it’s my time. I just have to do my things and my strategy. I will show my evolved self from my last fight.”
