On August 31, 2022, Cristiano Ronaldo completed his return to Manchester United.

The Portuguese legend decided to leave Juventus and return to the club where he spent six successful seasons from 2003-2009.

United may not have had a good season, finishing seventh in the Premier League and being knocked out early from the Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

But that's no fault of Ronaldo.

The legendary forward, despite turning 37 in February, performed at an extremely high level.

Granted, he had his ups and downs throughout the 2021/22 campaign, but he was still one of United's best performers.

Man United fans recognised his contribution on the weekend as he was named Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year, an award given to the club's best player over the course of the season as voted by fans.
