Liverpool are preparing a massive offer for Darwin Nunez, per journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Romano tweeted on Wednesday evening: "Official proposal from Liverpool for Darwin Núñez will be €80m plus add ons for €100m package. Benfica will make a decision soon, while Man United are also in contact with his agent. 🔴

"Liverpool are prepared to offer Núñez a five year deal, waiting for Benfica decision."

He notched 26 goals in 28 games. Per Squawka, his 84.39 minutes-per-goal ratio is the second highest of any player in Europe's top six leagues in 2021/22.

But who is the best? We've crunched the numbers and named the 20 players with the best minutes-per-goal ratios in Europe's top six leagues in the 2021/22 campaign.

Only Lewandowski had a better minutes-per-goal ratio than Nunez in Europe's top six leagues in 2021/22.

His ratio was even better than Benzema (96.3), Mbappe (108.29) and Salah (120.13).

That goes to show what an incredible season the Uruguayan had.

He won't come cheap but, if Liverpool are to get a deal over the line for the 24-year-old, it would be an incredible signing.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a goal every 136.6 minutes in the Premier League and just misses out on the top 20.
