Here is what UFC legend and former Champion Daniel Cormier had to say about Zhang Weili ahead of her rematch against Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 275.

Zhang Weili is set to face Joanna Jedrzejczyk in a massive rematch at UFC 275, and UFC legend and commentator Daniel Cormier has had some huge praise for the Chinese fighter ahead of her return to the octagon.

The first fight between the two Women’s Strawweight competitors is regarded as one of the greatest contests in the history of the sport, so many are extremely excited to see these two throw down again.

Whang took the victory back in 2020, and she enters the octagon as the slight favourite over Jedrzejczyk at -155 compared to Joanna’s +135 on the official UFC website.

Daniel Cormier UFC 275

The former UFC Champ Champ Cormier will be in the commentary booth for the huge event from Singapore Indoor Stadium on Saturday 11th June 2022, and he had some fascinating comments about Zhang ahead of her return.

Speaking to MMA Fighting, he said about the upcoming fight at UFC 275: “I think it’s gonna be a good fight. I think we’re gonna see a lot of skills. I don’t think that we’re gonna see that type of aggression, that type of head-on collision that we saw in the first fight.

“I think for Joanna to win, she’s got to be smarter. I think that in the time away she has recognized that and understands that even though the boogeywoman is a fun character, at times, you can’t fight like the boogeywoman.

“You gotta be a little bit sharper in your approach. Especially when you’re fighting. Honestly, Zhang Weili is legit the greatest athlete I think I’ve ever seen in my entire life.”

It’s a huge compliment from the UFC legend, and the bout should certainly be a firefight when the two women go back into the octagon against each other for the first time since 2020.
