The 2021/22 PFA Team of the Year was named on Thursday evening.

Six Liverpool players were named in the side: Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Thiago, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

Manchester City had three representatives: Joao Cancelo, Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva.

While Antonio Rudiger (Chelsea) and Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United) also made the side.

It was the fifth time that Ronaldo has been named in the PFA Team of the Year.

Following the awards, we've named the XI that have made the most appearances in the PFA Team of the Year in Premier League history.

Pallister, Terry and Vidic were all named in the PFA Team of the Year four times. Three fantastic defenders in their own right.

It's surprising Cole was only named in the side four times. He was the best left-back in the world at his peak.

Right-midfield: Cristiano Ronaldo - 5

Ronaldo has made the side thanks to his inclusion on Thursday. Despite being 37, it may not be the last time he makes it.

Shearer still holds the record for most Premier League goals with 260.

Striker: Thierry Henry - 6

Henry only spent eight seasons in the Premier League and made the PFA Team of the Year on six occasions. That shows just how incredible he was.

Among the players to miss out on the side include Eden Hazard (4), David Beckham (4), Frank Lampard (3), Paul Scholes (2), Mohamed Salah (3) and Harry Kane (5).
