Klopp is a big fan of Nunez
Nunez scored 34 goals in 41 appearances for Benfica in 2021/22 and can play out wide and through the middle.
Klopp didnât hide his admiration for Nunez after he scored in both legs of Liverpoolâs Champions League quarter-final tie against the Portuguese champions.
âExtremely good looking boy, huh? And a decent player as well,â the German said.
âI knew before, of course, but he played pretty much in front of me with his tough battles with Ibrahima Konate.â

Man Utd fan shares Nunez video
However, a Manchester United fan has attempted to quell Liverpool supportersâ excitement by sharing a not-so-flattering compilation of the Uruguayan.
In the video, Nunez makes a string of errors, including some poor touches, inaccurate passes and wild shots. Itâs pretty harsh, in all honesty.
âDarwin Nunez for â¬100m is crazy,â reads the accompanying caption.
Weâre sure the video wonât stop Liverpool fans getting excited about Nunez. In all honesty, negative compilations featuring clips across an entire season can be made for the majority of players.
And Nunezâs goalscoring record speaks for itself.
âHe was physically strong, quick, was calm around his finish,â Klopp added in his assessment of the 22-year-old.
âI always say in these situations if he is healthy, itâs a big career ahead of him.â
Signing Nunez would allow the Liverpool boss to get quite creative with his line-up, including a possible return to the 4-2-3-1 formation that led to so much success for him at Borussia Dortmund.
