Charles Leclerc went fastest during FP2 for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, ahead of both Red Bull cars and a quick-looking Fernando Alonso.

The eighth round of the world championship is in full swing and it's the three championship leaders that have been setting the pace so far in Azerbaijan, with Leclerc and Sergio Perez now 1-1 in terms of practice sessions topped.

Indeed, Perez went fastest from Leclerc earlier on in FP1 but roles were reversed in FP2, with the Ferrari man looking to get some momentum back after a couple of disappointing races.

Fernando Alonso, as mentioned, was fourth in the Alpine with him following up his top 5 time in FP1 with another good posting - he's running quite a low downforce set-up and it appears to be working for him as things stand.

Carlos Sainz sat fifth in the other Ferrari ahead of Pierre Gasly in the AlphaTauri and George Russell in the Mercedes.

The other AlphaTauri of Yuki Tsunoda went eighth fastest, meaning the team have got both cars into the top ten in both practice sessions so far, and Esteban Ocon was in ninth to allow Alpine to say the same thing.

Lando Norris, meanwhile, completed the top ten in the McLaren.

Elsewhere, Lewis Hamilton was 12th-fastest whilst the Alfa Romeo cars of Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanu were 14th and 15th respectively.

Mick Schumacher and Nicholas Latifi got more running in after issues in FP1 limited their lap count but could only go 19th and 20th fastest.

The action continues on Saturday with FP3 and qualifying.
