The Lionesses’ preparations for Euro 2022 are in full swing and some of the men’s England camp have paid the team a visit to wish them good luck. Ahead of their next match against Italy at Molineux on Saturday, Southgate’s team are back at St George’s Park. Declan Rice and Kieran Trippier, who are both a part of England's current Nations League squad, stopped by to see Sarina Wiegman’s side and pose for some photos. Rice was voted England’s Player of the Match against Germany for his typically commanding midfield performance at the Allianz Arena earlier this week. Trippier also featured in Munich –– winning his 36th cap and his first of 2022. The Lionesses Twitter page shared some snaps of the two players interacting with the women’s side, including a photo of Rice alongside England’s most capped player, Jill Scott. Rice and Trippier also took a group photo with the entire squad, which features the likes of Fran Kirby, Lucy Bronze and Ellen White.

Lionesses ready for historic summer

There’s less than a month to go before Euro 2022 gets underway, and Wiegman’s side are getting ready for three warm-up games ahead of the competition.

England will face Belgium on June 16th, before games against the Netherlands on the 24th and Switzerland on the 30th.

Next Wednesday, Wiegman will name her final squad for this year’s competition.

England are hosting the Euros for the first time since 2005, when they finished bottom of the group.

Home advantage could well count for a lot this year, with packed crowds expected for matches at Old Trafford and the Community Stadium in Brighton.

And if the Lionesses reach the final, then a sold-out Wembley Stadium will be cheering them on.

England struggling in Nations League

Meanwhile, Southgate’s team have started their Nations League game in lacklustre fashion –– losing against Hungary, before rescuing a draw against Germany.

It means England sit bottom of League A Group Three, with just one point from two games so far.

On Saturday the team face Italy in a repeat of last year’s European Championship final.Â
