Glover Teixeira may have beaten up Anthony Smith rather badly, but that didn't stop him from apologising to his opponent for knocking his teeth out.
UFC light heavyweight champion Teixeira was caught on camera offering his sincere apologies to former title challenger Smith during his win over the American in the main event of UFC Fight Night 171 in May 2020.
The short clip of the pair has gone viral with several popular MMA fan accounts sharing the video on social media.
It has amassed more than one hundred thousand views at the time of writing in less than a week with many finding Teixeira's apology incredibly wholesome as he appears to regret knocking Smith's teeth out.
Teixeira could be heard telling Smith 'Sorry Anthony' after he handed referee Jason Herzog his broken teeth in the fourth round as they were captured talking to each other in the cage.
Smith was stopped in the following round but in the fourth the pair could be heard exchanging pleasantries.
Teixeira, 42, said: "Sorry Anthony, part of the job."
Smith, 32, replied: "What?"

Teixeira persisted: "Sorry, part of the job."
Smith remarked: "Yeah, it is what it is, boss."
Teixeira, who was coming off a win over Nikita Krylov, continued to piece Smith up with his striking in round five before the ref waved the fight off.
Smith, beaten for the second time in his last three fights, was transported to hospital in Las Vegas for surgery.
After the fight it was revealed that Smith had suffered a broken eye socket and had two teeth knocked out during his one-sided beating at the hands of Teixeira.
But true to his nature, the Brazilian couldn't help but apologise for the amount of punishment he had inflicted on the American.
He told reporters: âI know his face was hurt because I was hitting him â my hand is hurting right now from hitting him.
"I know his face was hurt and like I said, he gave his tooth to the referee.
"He told the referee âhereâs my tooth,â and I apologized to him saying, âHey man, Iâm sorry, but itâs part of the job.â
âIt is what it is, man.â
Teixeira, meanwhile, is set to defend his light heavyweight belt against number-one ranked contender Jiri Prochazka tonight.
It is being held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang.
