UFC 275 is set to be headlined by a UFC Light Heavyweight Championship contest between Glover Teixeira and Jiri Prochazka, and MMA legend Chael Sonnen has now given his prediction for the bout.

The official UFC website has the Champion Teixeira down as the underdog heading into the main event contest at +165 as opposed to -195 for the challenger Prochazka.

Does ‘The People’s Champ’ look at the 205-pound contest the same way as the oddsmakers?

Here is what Chael Sonnen had to say about the UFC 275 main event between Glover Teixeira and Jiri Prochazka and his official prediction.

UFC 275 Main Event Prediction

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the former UFC fighter Sonnen would give his overview of what to expect from the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Saturday 11th June 2022.

He said: “As you’re going over this fight, which nobody seems to be overly excited for…and I can't force you guys to be excited to watch this match, but I'm just sharing with you.

“After this match, we are going to begin setting up storylines in a historically perennial division for this organization. The UFC has kept the doors open in certain eras of its lifetime with the Light Heavyweight class, so it's these guys' job to bring a little excitement and bring a little bit of flair. They're going to have their opportunity when they're going to be given a platform known as a microphone, let's see what they do with it.

“I’m not ready to count Glover out, I'm just not gonna do it. I think it's rude, it's not much of a reason to give a basis. But the longer the fight goes…as good, dangerous, awkward and effective as Prochazka is you go look a little bit closer, that's in the first round, and guys like that are very relevant.

“I assure you that Glover has factored that little equation that I just broke down, he's factored that into his plan. Now, he's got to get to the second and third round but he has a plan and that's where the experience [that's where] the veteran does come in. I'm giving this one to Teixeira.”

It’s a pretty big claim from the former Middleweight and Light Heavyweight fighter, and we’ll have to wait and see how Teixeira can weather the storm of Prochazka in the early going of the UFC 275 main event.
