Lionel Messi is one of the greatest players ever. There can be no debate about that.

The Argentine has done some extraordinary things on the football pitch since making his professional debut almost two decades ago.

Messi's dribbling skills are out of this world.

The PSG star has incredible ball control and exceptionally quick feet. He can shift the ball in the blink of an eye.

Those traits mean he's embarrassed so many players during his football career.

And a video has now emerged showing him making professional footballers 'look like amateurs'.

The video, posted on to Twitter by @Mysticalleo_, shows Messi 'destroying' famous players.

In the two-minute clip, Messi embarrasses many big names including Ashley Cole, John Terry, Roberto Carlos and even Cristiano Ronaldo.

Sergio Ramos is one of the players that are 'destroyed' by Messi in the video.

The two are now teammates at Paris Saint-Germain. Ramos will be glad he doesn't have to face Messi in competitive club matches any more.

After an underwhelming debut campaign for PSG, Messi has finished the season strong with Argentina.

The 34-year-old guided his side to Finalissima glory as he recorded two assists in a 3-0 victory against Italy.

He then scored all of his side's goals in a 5-0 victory over Estonia last weekend.

Messi is aware that he hasn't been at his best in 2021/22 and has promised to be better next season.

He told TyC Sports last month: “Thinking about me, individually and what happened this year, I think about being able to reverse the situation, about not having the feeling of having changed clubs and that it didn’t go well for me.

"And as you said, I know that this year is going to be different, I’m already prepared for what’s to come, I know the club, I know the city, I’m a little more comfortable with the dressing room, with my teammates and I know it’s going to be different”.

Defenders better watch out. If Messi's performances for Argentina in the last few weeks are anything to go by, he's going to be at his incredible best again in the 2022/23 campaign.
