Arsenal will have to pay a hefty fee to lure Jarrod Bowen away from West Ham, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

Bowen had an excellent campaign in east London in 2021/22, and his performances appear to have caught the eye of one of West Ham's Premier League rivals.

What's the latest news involving Bowen?

The Gunners seem to be intent on strengthening their options on the right flank to provide some competition for Bukayo Saka.

As reported by The Beautiful Game Podcast, Arsenal have Leeds' Raphinha on their shortlist of targets, and Bowen is also admired by the north London club.

It has been claimed that Arsenal have made contact with Bowen's representatives to gauge the possibility of a deal being done.

What has O'Rourke said about Arsenal's interest in Bowen?

O'Rourke thinks there is some truth behind Arsenal's interest in Bowen. However, with the winger still having three years left on his contract at West Ham, O'Rourke expects Arsenal to have their work cut out trying to land the England international.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I’m sure Arsenal would be interested in Jarrod Bowen. I think he had an outstanding season for West Ham, but I just can’t imagine West Ham would be willing to let him go to one of their rivals for a top-four place. They’ll be looking at a big price-tag for Jarrod Bowen. You’re probably looking at £50-60m.”

Where would Bowen fit in at Arsenal?

Some may be surprised at Bowen being linked with Arsenal, given that Mikel Arteta currently has one of the brightest young talents in English football at his disposal in Saka on the right wing.

The 20-year-old registered 11 goals and seven assists in the league last term, and was voted Arsenal's Player of the Year by the fans.

Still, strength in depth is going to be crucial next season, with Arsenal set to make their European football return.

Bowen has shown during his career that he can also operate as a central striker or as a No. 10, meaning that he could also push Martin Odegaard for his place in the team, or even play as a 'false nine' at times.

He has also previously had success against Arsenal, having run Kieran Tierney "ragged" last year, while Paul Merson has described him as "outstanding".

Arteta's side looked jaded towards the end of last season, and that could be put down to the Arsenal boss not being able to rotate his squad as much as he would like.

Bringing in a player like Bowen would go some way to rectifying this issue for next term, and give Arsenal the best chance possible of breaking into the top four.
