Tyson Fury made a shock announcement when he retired from boxing after defeating Dillian Whyte at Wembley in April, ending his career undefeated.

However, many people believe he isn’t done in the ring professionally, with even his wife, Paris Fury and his dad, John Fury, believing he will return.

Whoever wins the Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua 2 fight will then need a fight with Fury to see the undisputed fight of the heavyweight division.

He was talking to Queensbury Promotions, claiming: “I will be back in the ring 100 per cent, just like in the movie when Jerry Maguire shouted 'Show Me The Money!’ If anyone can show me the money then it's Frank Warren, I call him the Magic Man and we are going to make some big, big things happen.

“When this middleweight [Usyk] knocks out this bodybuilder [Joshua] there will only be one man to sort this absolute circus out. What I would say to the people who want this fight to happen is: you better have a big cheque book.

“Because to bring the big GK out of retirement to redeem this country - yet again - it's going to cost. I am a prize fighter and I do fight for prizes but it is going to cost if you want me to do a mission on this middleweight and show what a real heavyweight does to them.

“And that will be expensive, they will need deep pockets and then we can talk but not before the Usyk vs Joshua fight happens first, because it is pointless before.”

Fury clearly believes he is the kingpin of British boxing and the heavyweight division, sending the rumour mill into overdrive with a potential return to the ring, getting the boxing community excited.

However, since then, he has already made a U-turn when appearing on Good Morning Britain. He told the show: “As far as I'm concerned I'm happily retired; happy and content with my career. Never say never, but as far as I'm concerned, me and professional boxing are kaput. Enough is enough, I'm happy to do the showbiz side of boxing.”

Rumours over Fury’s future seem to rumble on constantly, no one seems to believe he is done in the ring. When you consider he is still training and then saying things like he did to Queensbury Promotions, we can see why.
