UFC featherweight king Alexander Volkanovski has shown off the insane volume of strikes he produced against The Korean Zombie.

Over the course of the last few years, Alexander Volkanovski has been able to establish himself as one of the greatest featherweights of all time. That may sound like an extreme thing to say but when you’ve knocked off the likes of Max Holloway, Jose Aldo, Chad Mendes and Brian Ortega, we’d argue he’s got a pretty strong claim.

‘The Great’ has successfully defended his championship three times and in his most recent outing at UFC 273, he put on an absolute clinic against Chan Sung Jung - better known as The Korean Zombie in the mixed martial arts world.

Volkanovski came into the bout as a strong favourite given everything we knew about both men but with this probably being Zombie’s last chance to capture the gold, there was always a chance we could see an upset.

Alas, it wasn’t meant to be as the 33-year-old dismantled the challenger before finishing him off with a TKO early in the fourth round.

Prior to that, though, we were treated to one of the most well-rounded performances in UFC history with the champion landing an insane 141 significant strikes throughout the encounter.

Now, in a video released by the champ, we’re able to see every single blow that was landed on the South Korean.

From leg kicks to jabs and beyond, Volkanovski proved why he’s up there as one of the best of his generation across all weight classes.

The trilogy awaits

In just a few short weeks on July 2, Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway will meet for the third and potentially final time with the 145-pound strap on the line.

The Australian star knows just how important this fight is for his legacy, especially given how many fans believe Holloway should’ve gotten the nod in their July 2020 rematch.

It’ll happen at UFC 276 in Las Vegas and regardless of whether or not he wins or loses, there’s a possibility it could be the final time we see Volkanovski at featherweight as he eyes a potential shift up to 155.

Then again, this may just be the beginning of the story.
