Tottenham target Richarlison could be Antonio Conte's "marquee signing" of the summer window, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

The Spurs boss is hoping to make one big attacking signing and O'Rourke reckons that could end up being the £43.2m-rated Everton forward.

What's the latest news involving Richarlison?

According to the Telegraph, Conte wants to sign an understudy for Harry Kane, and while the Brazil international is not an out and out striker, he's played through the middle more than 100 times during his career.

Therefore, with Richarlison clearly capable of playing centrally, Tottenham are interested in bringing him to north London.

The Athletic believe that Spurs are yet to make an offer for the 25-year-old but are prepared to negotiate at the right price, with the Toffees ace amongst a number of options Conte is considering.

The report states Everton are looking for more than £51m for Richarlison, while Fabrizio Romano believes they might be looking for as much as £65m, although they're 'unlikely to achieve' their needs.

However, The Athletic say that sources close to the club reckon the deal has a 'good chance' of happening, with the Goodison Park outfit desperate to raise funds this summer.

What did O'Rourke say about Richarlison?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "It all depends on the price tag, but you'd assume that Richarlison might be the marquee signing if Spurs are to sign a big-name this summer as well.

"He can play anywhere across the front three, which would give extra options to Antonio Conte."

Why do Tottenham want Richarlison?

Richarlison generally splits opinion, but it's really not difficult to see why Spurs are targeting him.

Not only does he offer versatility, which would prove a massive help if Steven Bergwijn leaves the club, but he's a proven goalscorer at this level and has scored goals in generally underperforming sides.

In his entire Premier League career across his time with Watford and Everton, Richarlison has found the net 48 times and laid on 18 assists in 173 appearances, which is a goal contribution once every 2.7 games.

Those numbers are nothing to stand up and take note of, but when you remember Tottenham already have Heung Min Son, Dejan Kulusevski and Harry Kane in their ranks, meaning Richarlison is unlikely to be a nailed on starter, then signing the Brazilian will only improve their squad even more.
