With AEW X NJPW's highly anticipated Forbidden Door event just around the corner, last night's AEW Road Rager special saw numerous appearances from NJPW stars as well as matches between AEW's best, featuring the likes of Dax Harwood, Wardlow, Chris Jericho and more.

Plus, Jurassic Express defended their AEW World Tag Team Championships against The Young Bucks in a ladder match.

Chris Jericho def Ortiz- Hair vs Hair match

Both men wanted bragging rights going into Blood and Guts on June 29th. The match would be hard-hitting and vicious, with both men taking hard bumps.

At one point in the bout, Ortiz almost had the match won after a distraction of the referee led to Chris Jericho eating a spinning back fist from Eddie Kingston, but the Wizard would power out at 2.

In the closing moments, referee Aubrey Edwards is distracted by the brawl on the outside, which allows Furgo del Sol to strike Ortiz with a baseball bat, securing Jericho the victory.

Post-match saw Fuego demask himself, only for it to be former Inner Circle member Sammy Guevara who had aligned himself with Jericho once more.

Ortiz would abide to the stipulation of the match and shave his hair off.

Wardlow wins 20 v 1 Handicap match-

Wardlow has made it clear his path to becoming the next TNT Champion but had to take a detour and dispose of Smart Mark Sterling's security.

Wardlow would make quick work of the security, demonstrating his dominance and executing an obscene amount of powerbombs to pick up the victory.

Post-match saw Wardlow get confronted by American Top Team members and UFC legends Tyron Woodley and Matt Hughes.

Woodley and Hughes would assist Wardlow in taking out Sterling as Mr Mayhem would drop him with a powerbomb.

Will Ospreay def Dax Harwood-

Ospreay had a bitter-sweet weekend as he lost his AEW debut alongside Aussie Open in trios action on Rampage, but bounced back by becoming the new IWGP United States Champion at Dominion on Sunday.

Ospreay was looking to get payback and continue his momentum by defeating FTR's Dax Harwood, getting his AEW singles record off to a good start.

Dax would have the momentum in the opening moments, demonstrating his hard-hitting fighting style on the Aerial Assassin.

Ospreay would soon take advantage after a pin-point shotgun dropkick into the steel steps.

As the match progressed, both men were being pushed to the limit and securing near falls, most notably Dax hitting five consecutive German suplexes on Ospreay. Also, Ospreay hit Dax with a powerbomb after a slick counter.

It would be Ospreay to pick up the victory as he would drop Dax with a Hidden Blade.

Post-match saw a brawl between United Empire's Aussie Open, IWGP Tag Champions Great-O-Khan and Jeff Cobb and Roppongi Vice and FTR. This led to the return of Orange Cassidy, who would have a staredown with Ospreay.

Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi - Face-to-Face

Moxley shows his respect to Tanahashi but also explains how the match was three years in the making and that after Forbidden Door, Moxley will be called 'Ace'.

Mox and Tanahashi proceed to be interrupted by Chris Jericho and the JAS' newest members, Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti.

As Jericho sends the rest of the JAS to attack Mox and Tanahashi, both men in the ring are blindsided by Suzuki-gun's Lance Archer and Desperado.

It is revealed that at Forbidden Door, it will be Chris Jericho, Minoru Suzuki and Sammy Guevara vs Eddie Kingston, Wheeler Yuta and Shota Umino.

Miro def Ethan Page- All-Atlantic Championship Qualifier

After Pac secured the first spot in the highly anticipated 4-way match at Forbidden Door for the All-Atlantic Championship, it was time to find out who would be joining him.

Ethan Page has his sights set on adding more gold to the Men Of The Year, whereas Miro looked to redeem himself.

The opening moments saw Page execute a calculated assault on Miro, dissecting his left shoulder.

Page would get some good offence but would ultimately not be able to avoid Miro's power for long as the powerhouse would drop Page with a lariat followed by a power slam.

Dan Lambert would try to get involved again on the outside, but this time Miro would scout it and drop him with a stiff shot before making Page submit to the Game Over.

Miro joins Pac next Sunday where an inaugural champion will be crowned.

Toni Storm def Dr Britt Baker D.M.D-

Toni Storm looked for revenge on Britt Baker after falling short to the D.M.D in the Owen Hart Foundation Cup. With AEW gold on her mind Storm looked to cement herself in the title picture by defeating the most dominant women's champion.

Storm would look dominant from the get-go and would receive an assist from AEW Women's Champion Thunder Rosa, who would chase Jamie Hayter away from ringside.

Toni would continue to take control, executing consecutive tornado DDT to Baker.

Baker would attempt to regain control and synch in the Lockjaw, but Storm would evade and hit the Storm Zero to pick up the victory.

Post-match saw Rosa re-emerge on the stage and make her intentions clear that she wants Storm next.

Hangman Adam Page promo-

Page would take to the ring to address the IWGP Heavyweight Championship situation. Hangman stated that he still wanted to face Kazuchika Okada at Forbidden Door even though he wasn't the champion.

Adam Cole would confront Hangman to stake his claim in the IWGP Heavyweight Title picture.

Out of nowhere IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White would make a shock arrival and drop Page with the Blade Runner.

However, White would reveal that he has no intention of fighting neither Cole nor Page, creating mystery surrounding a potential opponent at Forbidden Door for the catalyst of professional wrestling.

Young Bucks def Jurassic Express ( c ) - AEW World Tag Team Championships

A last-minute card alteration saw the AEW World Tag Team Champions Jurassic Express only putting their titles on the line against The Young Bucks.

The match would be fast-paced from the get-go with the Bucks taking out Luchasaurus on the outside of the ring. Both teams wouldn't slow down and each spot would showcase unique and captivating offence.

As the match progressed, there was a series of spots which saw around 3 to 4 tables break in the space of just a few minutes all beginning with Matt Jackson being brutally put through a table after a perfectly timed hurricanrana from Jungle Boy.

The closing moments would see Luchasaurus dumped off a ladder and put through four tables, to the disbelief of Jungle Boy who would be taken out by the Bucks which allowed them to climb the ladder and capture the AEW Tag Team Championships and become the first-ever two-time champions.

Post-match saw Christian Cage turn heel and attack Jungle Boy levelling him with a sickening cinchairto.
