Reports have stated that Sasha Banks has been released by WWE, weeks after being suspended by the company.During the May 16 episode of Monday Night Raw, Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out and refused to compete in their scheduled match.Banks and Naomi, according to reports, were unhappy with their treatment as WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, and decided to walk out of the show. And now, about a month later, we've got a rather interesting update on what the future holds for Sasha Banks in particular.

Last night, Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc tweeted that he'd been told that Sasha Banks had been released from her WWE contract.

He noted that he wasn't sure whether or not Banks asked to leave and was granted her release, or if the decision to let her go was made by WWE.

The speculation is that Banks wanted to go, as Naomi would likely have been released too if this was a punishment for their walkout.

For what it's worth, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has followed this up with his own report, suggesting that he's not heard that Banks has been released.

In fact, Sapp explained that upon speaking to numerous WWE sources and representatives, none have told him that Banks has been let go.

Fightful reached out to numerous WWE reps, one of which got back to us and stated "Not that I've heard" in regards to the release

WWE has not officially confirmed that Banks has been let go with a statement on its website, but that hasn't happened with any release for quite some time now.

The situation is a developing one, with a lot more likely to come out over the coming days, so make sure you stay tuned to GiveMeSport for all the latest.

Speaking of Banks, the former WWE Raw Women's Champion was spotted sporting a new look this week, which you can read more about by clicking here.
