Last night’s AEW Dynamite wrapped up with a huge heel turn occurring after the show’s main event.
Dynamite’s main event saw a last-minute card change where The Jurassic Express defended their AEW World Tag Team Championships against The Young Bucks in a ladder match.
Fans were glued to the action, which demonstrated fast-paced athleticism at its highest calibre.
The action would see the likes of Matt Jackson being put through a table courtesy of a hurricanrana from Jungle Boy and Luchasuarus getting put through a table after a 450 splash.
However, the closing moments would see new champions crowned after Luchasaurus was pushed off a ladder and planted through four tables.
This led to a two-on-one attack from The Young Bucks on Jungle Boy which saw them become two-time AEW World Tag Team Champions, ending the impressive 161-day reign of the Jurassic Express.
The shocks would continue after the match as Jurassic Express’ mentor Christian Cage took to the ring to console the former champions. As he was helping Jungle Boy out of the ring he would quickly turn and drop him with a Killswitch.
For weeks, Christian’s frustrations have caused his expectations of the Express to be stricter and them losing the titles was clearly Captain Charisma’s breaking point.
Christian would taunt an incapacitated Jungle Boy before getting into a war of words with his family at ringside.
It is unknown why Christian did what he did and what this means for the future of The Jurassic Express.
