Sean O'Malley slams Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier for UFC commentary

UFC 269: Raulian Paiva v Sean O'Malley

Exciting UFC up-and-comer Sean O’Malley recently ripped into Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier for their commentary during some of his recent fights.

O’Malley particularly took umbrage with the calls that both men make regarding his opponents going for leg kicks against him in the octagon, with both men mentioning the success that Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera had against ‘Sugar’ Sean.

Vera is the only fighter to have beaten the 27-year-old in the octagon thus far, but O’Malley doesn’t feel that what Rogan and Cormier are saying is warranted.

Here is what Sean O’Malley had to say with regards to the commentary from Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier during his recent UFC fights.

Sean O’Malley on Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier

Appearing on the DC & RC show, O’Malley would state directly to Cormier that he and Rogan drive him “crazy” when they bring up the leg kicks that Vera appeared to get success from in the

“The things that drive me crazy is the Chito Vera leg kick how a couple of times you go…and I’ve watched my fights back over and over and over again and every time I hear you and Joe say something like ‘I don’t know why they don’t kick his legs like Chito Vera did, it was very effective for him’ oh god it drives me crazy DC.

“He landed the leg kick, he landed it but it wasn’t a good quality leg kick. My leg kicks? I was landing on him, they were making him spin in circles. His big toe hit my hip [on] the nerve when I was pulling out from a kick. That wasn’t a very effective kick, but you guys would talk about ‘just chop his legs out, chop his legs out.’

“Chito Vera didn’t have sh*t. Have you ever watched that fight back Daniel? I whooped his ass.”

Cormier would respond to O’Malley’s comments by saying that he himself refers to the leg kicks as they appear to be the only tactic that has worked against ‘Sugar’ so far in the octagon.

The former Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight UFC Champion wanted to make sure that O’Malley realised that it “was a compliment” that he and Rogan mention the Vera fight, as no one else appears to have come close to having an answer to what ‘Sugar’ brings to the MMA world.
