Former UFC and NFL star Greg Hardy has signed for bare-knuckle boxing promotion BKFC.

At the age of 33, Greg Hardy has already tried his hand at an array of sports both in college and at the professional level. After his time in the National Football League came to an end he made the switch over to mixed martial arts, establishing himself as one to watch in the heavyweight division.

Unfortunately, a poor run of form towards the end of his run led to him exploring new options outside of the sport, with one of them being bare-knuckle boxing.

BKFC has had plenty of big names on their roster in the last few years including Paige VanZant and Mike Perry, with Hardy being the latest addition as the brand continues to go from strength to strength.

“I’m excited to start working with Greg, he’s a tremendous athlete with quickness and incredible strength as he’s shown in the UFC and NFL. He wants to test himself in bare-knuckle and has been training for a fight for the last couple of months,” said Dave Feldman, President of BKFC. “Heavyweight is one of our deepest divisions and his skill set fits right in. We’ll announce the date, location, and his opponent shortly.”

Hardy himself also released a statement on his latest career move.

“I'm back and ready to knock everyone out in the baddest promotion there is. Everyone knows I can knock people out and that's what I'm planning on doing. I can't wait to take the gloves off and Rumble for BKFC.”

Hardy’s second chapter

While he’s had many big moments throughout his athletic career, Hardy’s combat sports run is entering an entirely new era.

In addition to signing for BKFC, he’s also expected to put on a pair of gloves and make his pro boxing debut on October 8 for Black Sheep Promotions in Florida.

There’s been no opponent announced as of yet and it’s not known how this will interfere with his BKFC deal, but either way, Greg Hardy is determined to prove his critics wrong by any means necessary.
