Mayweather, Hopkins, Jones, Ali: Boxing Hall of Fame inductees ranked

Floyd Mayweather, Roy Jones Jr and Bernard Hopkins were recently inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

The International Boxing Hall of Fame celebrates the careers of some of the very best to ever do it.

This year, the Hall of Fame welcomed three classes of inductees to make up for the events cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

On June 12, the classes of 2020, 2021 and 2022 were inducted into the Hall of Fame, and featured some of the most famous male and female fighters in history.

In the class of 2020, the inductees included Bernard Hopkins, Juan Manuel Marquez, Shane Mosley, Frank Erne, Paddy Ryan, Barbara Buttrick, Christy Martin and Lucia Rijker.

The class of 2021 includes Wladimir Klitschko, Floyd Mayweather, Andre Ward, Laila Ali, Ann Wolfe, Jackie Tonawanda, Marian Trimiar and Davey Moore.

While the following names were also inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2022: Miguel Cotto, Roy Jones Jr, James Toney, Regina Halmich and Holly Holm.

The official ceremony took place on Sunday afternoon - and now all three classes of inductees have been ranked based solely on who was best at their peak during their careers.

ESPN have compiled a list of the greatest boxers of the modern era from some of the names above placing Mayweather three spots above Ward at number one with the self-appointed 'Son of God' sitting just inside the top five at number four.

But Buttrick, Erne, Moore, Ryan, Tonawanda and Trimiar have all been ignored.
