Lewis Hamilton has had a tough week since the Azerbaijan Grand Prix last weekend, suffering a bad back from the brutal bouncing of his Mercedes W13.

He still managed to secure an impressive fourth place, limiting the damage for himself as the Ferraris suffered a painful double DNF.

There was plenty of concern for Hamilton after the footage of him struggling to get out of his car at the end of the race, but thankfully, it wasn’t too serious.

After the worries, Hamilton confirmed that despite being in pain, he would feature at this weekend’s Grand Prix in Canada, the scene of his maiden race win.

Although a win is unlikely given the pace deficit in the Mercedes car compared to the Red Bulls and Ferraris, it certainly is a race with great memories for Hamilton and his fans.

Already in Montreal, Hamilton has been relaxing ahead of the race weekend, playing retro video games after going shopping.

He bought a SEGA Genesis in Canada and Ayrton Senna’s Super Monaco Grand Prix II, a game he loved as a child. He then uploaded a video of him enjoying the game on his Instagram.

Like many Formula One fans of that era, we can imagine Hamilton spent many an hour playing the hit game, dreaming one day it would be him in the cockpit.

It’s good to see him in such high spirits after his frustrating season thus far and is clearly ready to go this weekend after the problems suffered last time out.

The man who many deem as the greatest driver of all time is just like all Formula One fans everywhere. He’ll be the idol of so many people given his achievements on the track and incredible work off it.

However, he’s like the rest of us, having his hero (Senna) and loving endorsing in the merchandise of the Brazilian driver as many people around the world will do with him.
