The 2022/23 Premier League will be here before you know it.

Confirmation of the full fixtures was an exciting reminder for fans that all the transfer activity and pre-season friendlies will soon make way for the return of the most exciting league in the men's game.

And each new season brings with it fascinating new narratives surrounding everything from the big-money signings to promoted clubs and defending champions to up and coming stars.

The life of a Premier League coach

Premier League seasons are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you gon' get.

And that's certainly the case for the 20 men who will start the year stood in the technical area because there's no denying that the position of a Premier League manager is just about as stressful as it gets.

Coaching a team in England's top-flight will never win awards for job security because it's no secret that football clubs tend to bring the axe swinging down within one, two or three years unless you're truly special.

Besides, the 2021/22 campaign was hardly much different with Xisco Munoz, Steve Bruce, Nuno Espirito Santo, Daniel Farke, Dean Smith, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Rafael Benitez, Claudio Ranieri, Marcelo Biesla and Sean Dyche all being given the boot.

Who will be first to go?

So, despite the current crop of coaches undoubtedly being stacked with potential, the sad reality is that a good proportion of them will indeed be relieved of their duties at some point in 2022/23.

And with many managers shown the door within the first few months of the season each year, it should come as no surprise that the sharks are already circling in regards to the first casualty.

In fact, bettingodds.com have already crunched the numbers to see who bookmakers are predicting to be the first Premier League manager who will leave next season.

A clear landscape already

The pressure is on.

Saints fans seem to be losing faith in Hasenhuttl with each passing season as he spends yet another summer ranked as one of the most likely Premier League managers to be sent packing.

Meanwhile, it's clear that Lampard guiding Everton to safety hasn't fully alleviated the pressure on his shoulders and that another mediocre season for Rodgers at Leicester might not be enough for him to keep his job.

It's somewhat inevitable that the managers of the promoted teams rank highly, while there's also a reminder that Arteta might not be as secure as he'd like to be on the back of missing out on Champions League football.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, Gerrard can perhaps feel a little bit lucky to be considered so safe when you consider that his first half-season at Villa Park wasn't much to write home about.

It won't shock anybody that Klopp and Guardiola are going absolutely nowhere and the bookies clearly share our inkling that Brentford and Newcastle will be sticking with Frank and Howe for now.

That, and the fact that United look set to give Ten Hag plenty of time to prove himself at Old Trafford.

So, that's the current lay of the land as we all look forward to the return of the Premier League in just two months' time, but who do you think will be the first manager to bow out of the 2022/23 campaign?
