The Ukrainian looks to be in incredible shape as he maintains a gruelling schedule in preparation for the contest against the former two-time unified world heavyweight champion.
Usyk currently reigns supreme after defeating Joshua last year with an impressive and assured points victory, claiming the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO belts.
The sequel to the mammoth first fight was scheduled for May of this year, but Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine caused proceedings to be halted.
The rematch is slated for August 20, with boxing promoter Eddie Hearn confirming to talkSPORT that Saudi Arabia is the likely destination for the blockbuster match.
Taking to Instagram to release the images of his training regime, Usyk has attracted heaps of praise for his fearsome demeanour and his herculean build, with the odds now stacked in the favour of the undefeated champion as he looks to condemn Joshua to consecutive losses by his hand.
With the post captioned ‘Working hard…’, fans can certainly see that this is the case with the Ukrainian’s intimidating figure suggesting power is the incentive as he seeks to leave his mark once again.
Top heavyweight British boxer Joe Joyce believes Usyk is taking the rematch seriously and won’t make the same mistake as Andy Ruiz Jr, who entered the ring for his sequel with Joshua with questions over his physique and attitude towards the bout, which he ultimately lost.
Joyce said: “Usyk has already beaten him before, so he’ll have an advantage and know what to do again.
“Usyk is a very skilled fighter, good head movement, footwork, and boxing brain and very calculated in how he approaches. I think he can knock Joshua out.”
It’s safe to say boxing fans are also seriously impressed with Usyk’s current physique.
One AJ fan even couldn’t believe what he was seeing, posting: “Jesus, he looks MASSIVE. I’m routing for AJ but holy s**t.”
