Following the confirmation of a heavyweight rematch between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk, Matchroom Boxing published a video to their YouTube channel reflecting on the first meeting between the pair back on September 25, 2021.

The montage includes unseen footage from brand new angles and has given fans a glimpse into what they should expect come August.

Joshua is looking to regain the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles that he lost in the unanimous decision loss to the Ukrainian last year.

The 32-year-old has made changes to his training set up, recruiting American trainer Robert Garcia to work with Angel Fernandez as he looks to avenge his second ever defeat since turning professional.

Usyk is one of the pound for pound best fighters after being named undisputed cruiserweight world champion in 2018. The 35-year-old is yet to suffer a single defeat in 19 professional bouts.

Speaking ahead of the rematch in Saudi Arabia, Usyk said: “I have a goal, with the help of the Lord I will complete my mission!”

Joshua, meanwhile, stated: “A happy fighter is a dangerous fighter, and I am the happiest and most motivated I have been.”

One fan commented: “Terrific angle to watch a big fight from,” whilst another claimed: “Never seen anything like it, like ever, in boxing. Feels terrifying and exciting at the same time. It’s gold.”

Clean shots and up-close angles allowed for fans to relive some of the highlights of the fight whilst reminiscing on the feelings that it evoked, with one fan saying: “It somehow feels more visceral and real. Absolutely love it.”

The footage also evoked a newfound respect for the tactics used, with another fan commenting: “The angles of these shots are fantastic, really shows how Usyk dominated outside foot positioning.”

With Joshua finally handed his chance at redemption, the ‘Rage on the Red Sea’ fight will certainly be one to watch.
