A video has emerged on Twitter this week of Conor McGregor giving his version of events on the controversy from UFC 229 by commenting over a clip of the brawl.McGregor headlined the event at the T-Mobile Arena in Nevada in October 2018, facing long-term rival Khabib Nurmagomedov in a bitter grudge fight.Khabib won the fight via submission in the fourth round before climbing out of the Octagon and attacking McGregor’s cornerman Dillon Danis in the crowd. The Russian claimed he had treated the fight like a war in his preparations and wanted more than just the win, which explains his post-fight antics.Khabib claimed Danis was targeted because of his age, saying: “No, I didn’t hear him, you know. I jumped on him because other corner is too old; because Conor’s other corner, other coaches, too old, and that’s why I jumped on him, because he’s almost like my age.”McGregor, commentating on the clip, says: “When I saw this take place, I got up off the ground and said OK, now I’m back in the mix.”McGregor jumped on top of the Octagon before being confronted by a member of Khabib's team on top of the cage, where the two exchanged blows.McGregor described the encounter by saying: “It was like a Christmas present, he was right there, I just smacked him right in the eye socket.”

The fight spilled back into the cage where McGregor was met with more attacks by Khabib’s team.

McGregor hilariously exaggerates that he was then attacked, saying: “He broke free from the security, ran at 100mph towards me.”

A right-hand punch was thrown at the same time as McGregor threw a left.

Referencing the final scuffle, the Irishman laughed: “There’s an image, an aerial image of the right hand just whipping by my face, and my left hand just landing flush down the pipe, the final blow of the night, so that’s it, I win.”
