Wimbledon is here and we can't wait for an action-packed tennis tournament this summer.

The first set of matches were played on June 20 and the tournament is set to finish on July 10 with the men's final.

Looking at the men's singles side of things, here's what the potential routes look like for both tennis superstars Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

Djokovic looks to defend his title this year after winning the past three Grand Slams at Wimbledon. The Serbian has had to deal with a lot of drama in 2022, however, following his stance on COVID vaccinations.

To kickstart his run in the tournament, Djokovic will play Kwon Soon-woo, a South Korean tennis player who is currently ranked No. 52.

In the second round, Thanasi Kokkinakis could be up next. The Australian is ranked world No. 69 in the world.

In the third round of the competition, the Serbian could possibly play Miomir Kecmanovic.

Edging closer to the finals, world No. 15 Reilly Opelka could be next, having previously won the 2015 Boys' singles championship at Wimbledon. He is also the tallest ever ATP-ranked player at 6'11.

In the quarter-final, fifth seed Carlos Alcarez could go head-to-head against the Serbian.

One step away from the finals, Djokovic could take on the highest-ranked tennis player in Norwegian history Casper Ruud. He is the third seed in this year's tournament.

Having possibly surpassed Ruud, Djokovic could then face Rafael Nadal in the illustrious final.

Having touched upon Nadal, let's look at his potential route to the final if he wants to claim his third Grand Slam at Wimbledon.

Francisco Cerundolo will be Nadal's first opponent in this year's tournament.

In the second round, Sam Querrey, the American, could be next for Nadal. He had a career-high singles ranking of No.11 in 2018.

Ranked 27th, Lorenzo Sonego from Italy could be the Spaniard's third-round test.

As always, the opponents get much harder the further you progress. Up next could be Marin Cilic. Cilic is a Croatian tennis player who has won 20 ATP Tour singles titles, including a major at the 2014 US Open.

The taste for silverware is getting nearer. The young Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, at 21 years old, could battle it out against Nadal in the quarter-finals.

Up next could be Stefano Tsitsipas. The Greek professional has been ranked as high as No.3, but is the fourth seed for Wimbledon.

In the final, Nadal could then have the colossal task of overcoming Djokovic.

Nadal has won 22 Grand Slam titles in his career, whilst Djokovic has held the number one spot for a record of 373 weeks.
