Leeds are once again interested in signing Wolves ace Adama Traore, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Elland Road club were linked with the Spain international 12 months ago, although he ended up staying at Molineux despite doubts over his future before he was loaned to Barcelona in January.

What's the latest news involving Traore?

Last summer, the winger was on Victor Orta's list with Leeds hoping to improve on their impressive first season back in the top-flight.

They ended up signing Dan James on deadline day and would struggle last term, only avoiding relegation on the final day thanks to a dramatic 2-1 victory at Brentford.

And with Raphinha, the man who opened the scoring that day, set to seek pastures new following links with Barcelona and Arsenal, Traore is now being targeted as a replacement.

According to TEAMtalk, the Yorkshire giants are showing a 'strong interest' in the wide man, who failed to score in 18 appearances following his return to the Nou Camp, although he did lay on four assists.

The report states that with just 12 months left on his Wolves deal, Bruno Lage's charges would be prepared to sell Traore for £20m or less as they look to avoid letting him go for nothing in 2023.

What did Jones say about Traore?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "One of the things I have heard is that Leeds are back in for Adama Traore and they're going to really push to see if they can get a breakthrough on this one."

Would Traore be a good signing for Leeds?

If Leeds lose Raphinha, who's scored 17 goals and assisted 11 in his two seasons as a Premier League player, he needs to be replaced properly.

And while it'll be near-impossible to bring in someone with half the quality of the Brazilian, Leeds should be aiming higher than Traore, especially considering they're going to have funds available from Raphinha's sale.

Everyone knows how destructive the ex-Middlesbrough and Aston Villa star can be on his day, highlighted by Jurgen Klopp describing him as 'unplayable' last season, but his end product record remains questionable.

In fact, in 96 Premier League games more than Raphinha, Traore has scored less than half the goals and has only managed three more assists, which suggests he's not good enough to arrive as a direct replacement for the Arsenal target.
