Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk 2 has been one of the most eagerly anticipated boxing rematches for some time now. The first bout occurred on the 25th of September 2021, with the match going the full way but ultimately the Ukrainian, Usyk, dominated at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and walked away with the WBA, IBO and WBO belts.
Joshua will now be looking for revenge as he looks to obtain his titles back. He is taking a different approach this time around to try and outwit Usyk, even going as far as to appoint a new trainer in the form of Robert Garcia who will hopefully help the English powerhouse take a different approach in order toto try and conquer The Cat.
The new match will take place on the 20th August 2022, with the destination for the fight also having been announced – which is Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The first press conference is now upon us, although if you are expecting sparks to fly you may be disappointed with relations between the pair seemingly good after the first fight.

What to Expect
The first press conference of a rematch usually talks a bit about the previous fight and how things have changed since then. Both fighters will be able to give both sides of their story.
As we mentioned before, don’t expect sparks to fly. These two have no bad blood after the first fight so we can’t anticipate much trash talking going on in this one.
Questions could also be raised about the location of the fight, with Saudi Arabia being a controversial choice for many due to the ongoing human rights issues associated with the country.
