Sadio Mane is one of the most humble footballers around.

Mane has become one of the best players in the world at Liverpool.

He has earned a fortune during his professional career. He is set to be given a substantial pay-rise when he joins Bayern Munich, with the deal expected to go through this week.

But, despite his extraordinary success, Mane has never forgotten where he came from.

Mane grew up in a small village in Bambali, Senegal.

Since becoming a professional footballer, Mane has endeavoured to improve the quality of lives of those that live there.

And he's done so with numerous incredible gestures over the years, as detailed by the Daily Mail.

Ahead of his move to Bayern, Mane has spent time back in the village where he grew up.

He was captured playing football with those from his village.

He visited the hospital that he financed at a cost of £455,000. The hospital serves 34 villages in the surrounding area.

He built a £250,000 public secondary school in the village. While the 30-year-old was was filmed opening a new fuel station and has already pledged funds to build a post office.

That's not all, though.

He has provided each family in the village with a monthly €70 support package. He's also offered €400 to the best achieving students at Bambali High School.

While laptops have also been provided to the school, free sportswear has been handed out to the children in the village and 4G internet has been installed.

The word legend is thrown about a lot these days, but that's exactly what Mane is.

His generosity is absolutely incredible. He deserves every bit of success he's had and continues to have in his career.
