Everton manager Frank Lampard is interested in signing Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech this summer, transfer insider Dean Jones has revealed.

The 29-year-old could become a casualty of the Blues' reshuffle in attack, and Jones says Lampard could look to take advantage of that.

What is the latest news involving Ziyech?

Earlier this month, The Telegraph reported that Chelsea will listen to offers for Ziyech this transfer window.

The Moroccan arrived at Stamford Bridge from Ajax in an initial £33m deal back in 2020, but things have not quite worked out for him.

Ziyech, who was Lampard's first Chelsea signing, started just 14 Premier League games under Thomas Tuchel last season.

Reports now suggest that the west London club have both Manchester City's Raheem Sterling and Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele on their radar, and it looks like that could have an impact on the former Ajax man's future.

What has Jones said about Ziyech, Lampard and Everton?

Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that Everton are keeping an eye on Ziyech's situation at Stamford Bridge, with Lampard keen to bring him to Goodison Park if he has a desire to stay in the Premier League.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: "The changes at Chelsea are likely to lead to Ziyech looking for a new club, and Everton are one side keeping an eye on the terms around any exit.

"Generally, Frank Lampard is being linked with all the homegrown players from Chelsea, but I’ve been told he’ll be interested in Ziyech too if the player is keen to stay in the Premier League."

Would Ziyech be a good signing for Everton?

Without question. While Ziyech has certainly had his struggles at Chelsea, he has shown moments of brilliance.

Speaking after his display in a 2-0 win over Tottenham last season, former Manchester United defender Gary Neville was quick to praise the Chelsea star, comparing him to Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez.

"He has got that Mahrez-feel about him, with a dip of the left shoulder and a lovely left foot," Neville said on his Sky Sports podcast (via MailOnline). "He puts lovely deliveries in from set-pieces and it was a brilliant, brilliant goal."

Lampard is also clearly a huge fan having been the man to have brought him to English football, describing the ex-Morocco international as a "top-class player".

Ultimately, if Everton can get this one done, it would be a huge coup for the Merseyside club.
