Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper could manage to tempt Joe Rodon to the City Ground this summer, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

The pair worked together at Swansea, and they could be reunited at the newly-promoted club next season.

What's the latest news involving Rodon?

Rodon featured in just three top-flight matches for Tottenham in 2021/22 as he found himself out of favour under Nuno Espirito Santo, and then Antonio Conte.

His future at Spurs seems to be in some doubt, and the Daily Mail has reported that Forest have set their sights on adding him to their squad in the current transfer window.

Rodon has also been attracting interest from Wolves and Fulham, so it may not be straightforward for Forest to sign him.

What has O'Rourke said about Rodon potentially joining Forest?

Rodon played under Cooper during the 2019/20 season, and O'Rourke thinks this could lead to the 27-cap international choosing to move to Forest this summer.

When asked about Forest's chances of signing Rodon with Cooper at the helm, O'Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: “It definitely gives them an edge. If a player has worked with a manager before, and he enjoyed it there, I’m sure it’s something he would definitely consider that he’d like to do.

“I’m sure Steve Cooper will be hoping to use that relationship with Rodon if they do decide to pursue a move for the Welsh international.”

Could Rodon resurrect his career at Forest?

Rodon is still only 24, but his club career has stalled over the last two seasons since he moved to Tottenham.

Multiple managers at Spurs have shown little faith in him, which has led to him making just 24 appearances in all competitions for the north London outfit.

However, the 6 foot 4 defender has proved his class at international level, helping Wales qualify for the World Cup for the first time in 64 years.

Moving to Forest would likely see him go straight into the starting XI, and by playing regularly he could rediscover his best form, which would be a huge bonus for Cooper's side, who will have their work cut out trying to stay in the Premier League, having been away from the top-flight since 1999.

Rodon has some top-flight experience, and this may prove vital as Forest attempt to fend off the threat of relegation.
