Reports have indicated that Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque told people at the WWE Performance Center that he’s “back”.
Triple H hasn’t worked with WWE Development since its transition to NXT 2.0, which took place around the same time he was dealing with serious heart issues.
The brand has changed a lot from the industry-changing one that Triple H developed between 2012 and 2019, with NXT previously being recognised as the best wrestling show on the planet.
Since then, NXT 2.0 has become much more of a Vince McMahon product, focusing on younger, inexperienced wrestlers who WWE hopes will turn into WrestleMania main eventers.
However, that could be about to change…
John Pollock of POST Wrestling is reporting that Triple H was in Orlando yesterday and was at the WWE Performance Center.
Pollock explains that HHH told people down there that he’s “back”, leading many to speculate that he’s set to become more hands-on with NXT once again.
The news will come as music to the ears of WWE fans and NXT stars, with many NXT alumni revealing how much they enjoyed working under ‘The Game’.
According to multiple sources, Paul Levesque was in Orlando today and spoke at the Performance Center.— John Pollock (@iamjohnpollock) June 22, 2022
Of the people I heard from, Levesque stated "he's back" – it is unknown what that entails but that was the wording I was given.
It’s worth noting that no one within WWE has officially said that Triple H is back in his old role, but Pollock’s tweet certainly makes it seem as if that’s the case.
Triple H has been back working behind-the-scenes in WWE for around three months now, returning to work around the same time that he retired from in-ring wrestling in April.
For those that don’t know, Triple H nearly died last summer after experiencing a serious cardiac event. Thankfully, he’s on the road to full recovery, but he won’t ever be able to wrestle again.
There are a lot of changes going on within WWE right now, with Vince McMahon temporarily stepping down as Chairman and CEO.
Vince’s replacement is his own daughter, and Triple H’s wife, Stephanie McMahon, who has been named the Interim CEO and Chairwoman.
As of right now, there’s no word on whether or not Stephanie McMahon brought her husband back to NXT as part of her new role, or if his return to the developmental brand was always planned to happen.
