WWE announced on this week's episode of Monday Night Raw that Rhea Ripley will not be medically cleared to compete by Money in the Bank.

Ripley was supposed to go one-on-one with Bianca Belair for the Raw Women's Championship at the show, but due to Ripley's injury, that match is now off.

Instead, Belair will face Carmella at the show, with the former SmackDown Women's Champion returning to TV and earning a title match on this week's show.

The news is definitely a blow to WWE, with fans rather excited to see two of the hottest stars in the women's division share the ring in a big pay-per-view title match.

In what will be another blow to WWE, Ripley has revealed the nature of the injury she suffered, and to be honest, it's quite worrying.

Clapping back at a fan on Instagram who stated that Rhea didn't look too injured, the former NXT Women's Champion explained that she is dealing with a brain injury, as well as a dental one.

The injury came on the June 4 episode of WWE Raw, the show were Rhea earned her title match against Bianca.

During a four-way match, Liv Morgan and Alexa Bliss hit Rhea with a double-team move, but things didn't go to plan.

As you can see below, Rhea's knee collided with the bottom rope and bounced back into her face, leaving her with a brain and teeth injury.

The spot did look rather brutal, so it unfortunately isn't too surprising to see that Rhea is out of action for the time being.

WWE fans will be hoping that Ripley is fit and healthy soon, and it seems like that may be the case.

On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that Rhea's injury isn't too serious, and explained that there is a hope that she'll be able to return quite soon.

The news will definitely come as music to the ears of WWE and its fans, with Rhea someone that higher-ups are clearly looking to push.

It's worth noting that while Ripley is expected to be back soon, which again is good news, there's no official timeline on when WWE is hoping to have her back.
