Since his release in July 2021, Bray Wyatt is yet to step back into a wrestling ring for any company.

However, in recent weeks the former WWE Champion at hinted at a possible return to the industry, sparking speculation that Wyatt could be headed back to WWE.

Cashing in on any possible comeback for Bray, GiveMeSport looks back at the eight best matches of his WWE career.

Bray Wyatt vs Roman Reigns

Hell in a Cell 2015

Years before Wyatt would become the catalyst to Roman Reigns’ current all-conquering run, the pair finished their overlooked rivalry from 2015 with this Hell in a Cell battle.

Having seen their feud involve Dean Ambrose, Chris Jericho, a debuting Braun Strowman as well the rest of the Wyatt Family, it was finally Reigns and Bray one-on-one and they slugged it out between the steel. Using the usual array of weapons and spots to pull off an entertaining and brutal Hell in a Cell. The finish coming with Wyatt being thrown into a kendo stick wedged into the turnbuckle and then hit with a spear from Reigns.

Bray Wyatt vs John Cena

Last Man Standing match

Payback 2014

With Cena and Wyatt tied at one win each during their WrestleMania fallout feud, the pair squared-off once again in a Last Man Standing match in what was another memorable outing between these two rivals.

Before the match Cena evened his odds by having Tag Team Champions The Usos in his corner to counter Wyatt family members Harper and Rowan. This allowed the men to embark on an all-out brawl as they tried to keep each other down for the ten count. They fought all over the arena, with Wyatt hitting Cena with a Drop Suplex through a table, but it was Cena’s Attitude Adjustment onto the equipment crates that eventually bought this hard-hitting chaos to an end.

The Fiend vs Finn Balor

SummerSlam 2019

While the action in this match isn’t a classic, it was the anticipation of finally seeing Bray Wyatt unleash The Fiend that made this bout so memorable – and Balor was the sacrificial lamb.

For weeks we’d seen Wyatt’s Firefly Fun House vignettes get more and more sinister and it became clear we were to finally be introduced to The Fiend properly at SummerSlam. When the lights went out in Toronto, fans were glued to the entrance way as Wyatt slowly walked to the ring to a slowed down rockier version of his theme, holding a lantern decorated in Bray’s face. It was eery, it was out there, it was pure Bray Wyatt and it rocked.

Bray Wyatt vs Roman Reigns vs Finn Balor vs Seth Rollins vs Samoa Joe

Extreme Rules 2017

Without absent Universal Champion Brock Lesnar, WWE booked a number one contender’s match involving the very top tier of talent – including Bray Waytt. Positioning him as a real player in WWE.

The Fatal 5-way allowed each man to strut his stuff, with our man memorably hitting a DDT onto the steel steps to Seth Rollins and a side slam through announce table on Roman Reigns – echoing their previous dealings as part of The Shield and Wyatt Family. This was also where Wyatt and Balor would fire the embers for their upcoming feud, in a match that eventually saw Samoa Joe come out on top and go onto face Brock at Great Balls of Fire.

Bray Wyatt vs AJ Styles vs Baron Corbin vs Dean Ambrose vs John Cena vs The Miz

WWE Championship Elimination Chamber match

Elimination Chamber 2017

A stellar cast of Superstars for this Elimination Chamber match that is remembered as the end of John Cena’s last world championship run, and the first-ever title win for Bray Wyatt.

Wyatt was by no means the favourite heading into this match, with many fans refusing to be let down once again with hopes of him finally landing the big one. However, amidst the usual Elimination Chamber shenanigans Bray firstly eliminated champion Cena, before pinning AJ Styles to finally get his hands on the WWE Championship. Less said about the WrestleMania follow-up with Randy Orton, the better. Those bugs……

3

The Fiend vs John Cena

Firefly Funhouse match

WrestleMania 36

A match that spilt opinion with fans, with some not liking the bizarre concept, and others calling it genius. However, it was certainly unlike anything we’d seen in the past or will possibly see again.

With WWE's hands tied during the pandemic, Bray took the cinematic matches to the next level for his meeting with John Cena at WrestleMania. Allowing us into his warped world where he lent on Cena’s insecurities and criticisms in a thirteen-minute window into Wyatt’s clever and creative mind, that wouldn’t have looked out of place in Hollywood. The images of Cena donned in nWo attire, and the pair locked behind WWE’s classic blue bars have become iconic shots of a ‘match' that we’re ever likely to see again.

2

Bray Wyatt vs Daniel Bryan

Royal Rumble 2014

The Royal Rumble is often the place for overlooked classic single matches and this little doozy was the icing on the cake of Daniel Bryan’s feud with Wyatt in 2014.

During the programme between the pair, Bryan was recruited by the Wyatt Family - leading to his memorable dirty overall look – before turning on the family and leading to this blow-off between the pair. The clash of styles between the pair meshed perfectly as Wyatt proved he could hang with one of WWE’s best in-ring stars, while Bryan’s ascent to the top of WWE was about to be set in motion.

1

The Wyatt Family vs The Shield

Elimination Chamber 2014

Possibly indicative of Wyatt’s WWE run that the best match with the company is a six-man tag team bout – but this isn’t any ordinary six-man affair. Arguably, the best six-man tag team match in WWE history.

Fans are suckers for gang warfare, and when those two gangs are two of the hottest stables WWE produced in years, the match had fans at in their element for this clash between The Shield and Wyatt’s, Wyatt Family. Indeed, the chants of ‘This is awesome’ rained down on the arena even before the match started, as both trios stared each other down, face-to-face. Once the bell rung, the action lived up to the hype and was chaotic from start to the victorious end for Bray’s brood. With Luke Harper sacrificing himself to Roman Reigns’ spear to allow Wyatt to hit Sister Abigail and get the victory for his team.
