Overwatch 2 Confirms Everything That Will Be in the Beta

Overwatch 2

More information about the upcoming Overwatch 2 PvP beta has been confirmed by Blizzard, including the hero updates and new test maps that players will experience.

Fans of Overwatch have been waiting years to play Overwatch 2, and last month’s PC PvP beta gave them their first opportunity. With the second test slated for next week, more fans will now have the opportunity to play Overwatch 2 before its early access launch on October 4.

The following Overwatch 2 PvP beta will begin on June 28 at 11 a.m. Pacific Time and end on July 18, according to Blizzard. The Overwatch 2 beta is not an open beta, thus anyone interested in playing must register.

Although Blizzard intends to distribute beta invites in waves, anyone can ensure they receive one by paying $39.99 for the Overwatch 2 Watchpoint Pack. It includes certain cosmetic bonuses in addition to beta access and access to Overwatch 1 as it is right now.

Overwatch 2 Beta

Everything that fans may anticipate being a part of the new Overwatch 2 PvP beta has been announced by Blizzard. Players will be able to test out the brand-new 5v5 format and new heroes Sojourn and Junker Queen. However, this will be the first time ever for Overwatch fans to play as the new Tank hero Junker Queen. Sojourn was playable in the previous PvP beta. Players of Overwatch 2 may also check out new designs for other characters on the roster as well as reworks for established heroes like Bastion, Doomfist, Orisa, and Sombra.

The Colosseo and New Queen Street maps in Overwatch 2‘s new Push game style will be fully featured. Midtown and Paraiso, two hybrid maps, will also be available, along with the Escort map Circuit Royal, which will also be playable.

Finally, players will be able to test out Overwatch 2‘s new ping mechanism. Console players can now test out the ping mechanism, which was previously on show in the first Overwatch 2 PvP beta. The ping system may very well be more crucial for console players in Overwatch 2 because they can’t type messages with their keyboards as quickly as their PC counterparts can.

A simple one to begin with, we beg you know this – otherwise I’d just stop here.

It’s likely that Blizzard will conduct additional Overwatch 2 betas before the game’s early access launch on October 4, but as of this writing, nothing formal to that effect has been published. We do know that Overwatch 2 will feature a new Support hero at launch, but at this point, we can only speculate on whether or not they will be playable in a later beta.

Early access to Overwatch 2 will be available on October 4th for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
