Former Pittsburgh Steeler and Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Haden might have dropped a major hint on where he sees himself playing next.

Joe Haden has enjoyed what can best be described as a promising but unfulfilled time when it comes to his tenure in the National Football League so far.

He came out of college from the University of Florida with seemingly all the attributes needed in order to be a top corner in the NFL having racked up 218 tackles whilst in his three years with the Gators to go along with 8 interceptions and 3.5 sacks which helped see him named as a unanimous All-American in 2009.

Joe Haden: Former Steelers CB hints at possible return to the Cleveland Browns

All of those saw him taken #7 overall in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns where he did his best to try and bring them to success, putting up 19 interceptions as well as a pick-six to go along with 377 combined tackles which saw him earn Pro-Bowl honours in 2013 and 2014, but never saw the Browns post a winning season.

Brighter, but not the brightest

In 2017 he signed in free agency with the Pittsburgh Steelers, a team with whom he had a better chance of winning a championship and he continued to bring a high level of production to the Steel City, with 238 combined tackles across the past five seasons along with 10 interceptions, including a critical pick of Tom Brady that helped the Steelers to defeat the New England Patriots back in 2018:

However at the age of 33, his days in the league are slowly coming to an end, and he currently finds himself without a team after the Steelers decided not to renew his contract after this past season.

But he clearly thinks he has something left in the tank, and according to his social media, there might be a team out there that feels the same way.

What’s been said?

Posting on his Instagram story, Haden seemed to hint that he has been in discussion with the Browns over possibly returning to the team:

The Browns already have one high-quality corner in the form of Denzel Ward, but it can never hurt to have additional depth or a veteran leader on the books. Whether or not this leads to somewhere, we’ll just have to wait and see, but at least he’s given us a warning so it shouldn’t come as a shock if it does happen.Â
