God of War Ragnarok: Cory Barlog continues hints towards release date

God of War Ragnarok is scheduled for release in 2022.

Cory Barlog, the director who was behind 2018’s wildly successful God of War, has continually been teasing fans about the potential release date of the sequel, God of War Ragnarok.

And it appears that he doesn’t intend to stop anytime soon.

Barlog has been taking to Twitter continually over the past few weeks and has been dropping cryptic hints over the potential release date, as per Comic Book.

There have been suggestions that God of War Ragnarok could be delayed until 2023, so fans are desperate for confirmation of when it will finally hit shelves.

Two recent tweets from Barlog have drawn a particular amount of attention.

On June 22, he tweeted a gif of Kratos, God of War’s bearded, muscly hero, accompanied by a “stay calm boy” caption.

Now, this could be read any number of ways; he may well be excited because he knows that the game is coming out soon, or he could be aiming it at fans, insisting that they should chill out instead of consistently asking for news. We don’t know.

The second tweet is even more cryptic.

He posted the gif of Batman scratching his chin with a selection of dots in the caption. There is even less to read into this, but the cryptic nature of the tweets has drawn a fair amount of attention because of the rabid nature of gaming fans.

We have absolutely no word from Sony over the God of War Ragnarok release date as of yet, we just know that the game will be releasing later this year.

The rumours of the potential delay continue, but the publishers would have to pull the trigger on that quickly, with time running out.

We’ll let you know whenever we hear something official.
