West Ham United are keeping tabs on Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu and have also 'looked at' luring Christian Eriksen to the London Stadium, according to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

The Hammers are preparing for a season of Europa Conference League football, having finished seventh in the Premier League last term, and boss David Moyes is eager to strengthen his squad.

What's the latest news involving Kokcu and Eriksen?

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, West Ham are interested in tempting Kokcu to the Premier League for the first time in his career.

Romano suggests the £19.8million-rated Feyenoord ace has worked his way onto the radar of various clubs, with many exploring a move.

Meanwhile, it is understood that the Hammers are one of nine sides to have made contact with Christian Eriksen's representatives over a switch ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Eriksen joined Premier League rivals Brentford in January but, having only penned a six-month deal, his current agreement is set to expire later this week.

As a result, West Ham could sign the Dane as a free agent despite being valued by Transfermarkt at £18million.

What has Ryan Taylor said about the duo?

Taylor understands Moyes is keen to land reinforcements in three key positions before the transfer window slams shut on September 1.

The journalist believes Kokcu and Eriksen are two stars the West Ham chief has been tracking ahead of potentially heading to the negotiating table.

Taylor told GIVEMESPORT: "Left-back is one they want, a striker is one they want and attacking midfield is one they want.

"Eriksen is one they've looked at. Orkun Kokcu, of Feyenoord, is another player they're looking at, so there's options for West Ham."

Why are Kokcu and Eriksen of interest to West Ham?

Kokcu may only be 21, but he has already racked up 16 international caps for Turkey and got his hands on silverware during his time on Feyenoord's books.

The central midfielder made 51 appearances last season - including an outing in the Europa Conference League final - and showed he can be a menace in the final third of the pitch by chalking up nine goals and as many assists.

Kokcu has even been compared to Luka Modric by former Liverpool ace Mohamed Sissoko, which is no mean feat considering the Real Madrid star has clinched the Champions League on five occasions and won the Ballon d'Or.

Eriksen, meanwhile, would offer bags of Premier League experience thanks to enjoying 237 outings in the competition.

Over the course of his senior club career, the 30-year-old has registered 272 goal contributions, so it is clear he would add creativity to West Ham's midfield.
