West Ham manager David Moyes would love to re-sign Jesse Lingard, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.

The Hammers have been hoping to capture the £75,000 per-week ace for several months and recently made an offer for his services.

What's the latest news involving Lingard?

West Ham were interested in signing the England international last summer following his loan spell and then in January, but they failed in their attempts on both occasions.

However, with Lingard set to become a free agent at the end of the month after Manchester United confirmed his exit, he could finally get his permanent move to the London Stadium.

Lingard, who's racked up 56 senior goals in his career, arguably played the best football of his career during his loan spell in the capital when he scored nine goals and laid on five assists to help the Hammers qualify for the Europa League in 2021.

And Sky Sports believe that Moyes' team have finally made an offer to the attacker's representatives as they look to make the 29-year-old their second signing of the window on a free transfer.

What did Crook say about Lingard?

While Crook believes that Lingard is a top target of Moyes', having seen Newcastle withdraw their interest following his £150,000 per-week wage demands, he reckons the star will have to reduce the amount he's asking for.

He told GIVEMESPORT: "He's definitely a big target, but he's going to have to lower his wage demands, Newcastle have already walked away.

"He's got to be careful, Juventus have already cooled their interest, so he's in danger of pricing himself out of a move, but David Moyes would love to sign him, there's no question about that."

Are West Ham close to signing anyone else?

The east Londoners recently secured the services of Rennes centre-back Nayef Aguerd for £30m and are close to landing another of their summer targets.

According to Sky Sports, the Hammers have agreed a deal with PSG for the services of goalkeeper Alphonse Areola following his loan spell with the club last season.

But West Ham are not just hoping to strengthen at the back, with the same outlet reporting that Moyes is hopeful of signing Chelsea striker Armando Broja.

The report claims that they're planning to bid £30m for the 20-year-old, who's emerged as Moyes' top striker target after scoring an impressive nine goals while on loan at Southampton last season.
