Mesut Ozil was a once-in-a-generation talent, there can be no denying it.

The former Arsenal and Real Madrid star had quite the penchant for the mercurial and was able to pull very large rabbits out of tiny hats at any given moment.

In truth, when Ozil turned it on, he was unplayable and even his teammates had to expect the unexpected just to keep up with him.

Sure, he didn't shower himself in glory in the latter years of his career as his playing days lurched from one controversy to the next but, in his pomp, he truly was a sight to behold.

His mesmeric eye for an assist was unmatched with Ozil, on regular basis, able to pick the sort of passes that us mere mortals can only dream of.

The partnership he formed with Cristiano Ronaldo while at Madrid saw them quickly become one of the deadliest duos on the continent before Ozil then brought his bag of tricks to London.

The Gunners pulled off a major coup in landing the German wizard who almost immediately began repaying the hefty fee they coughed up for him.

Gorgeous assists began raining down at the Emirates and beyond with Ozil making light work of top flight English football.

However, there is one game in particular that Ozil was just on a completely different planet and the scintillating highlights prove it.

What is causing debate, though, is that the page that has dropped the highlights is making the bold claim that Ozil put in the greatest individual performance in Premier League history.

As you can imagine, such a claim was always going to cause heated debate, so why not check out the highlights below and make up your own mind.

How is it possible to have so many special moments in a single game?

Whether it was enough to be given the lofty title of best individual performance, though, remains a different kettle of fish entirely.

Looks as though the claim has split opinion right down the middle.

Now don't get us wrong, it is a simply sublime performance but is it really the greatest ever? We'll leave that up to you to decide.
