From Software had a huge hit on its hands when it released the wildly successful Elden Ring.
The open-world game has been sensationally received by both fans and critics and is currently seen as the best game of this console generation, as per Metacritic.
It has a 96 score from critics and a user score of 7.9; it is subsequently this year’s best PS5 game as per the review scores.
But it seems that From Software, who have also developed the likes of Bloodborne, Dark Souls, and Demon Souls, are already looking to the future and are working on new projects.
Video Games Chronicle reports that the Japanese studio’s latest recruitment drive sees them searching for “a wide range of occupations for multiple new projects”.
Hidetaka Miyazaki, who directed Elden Ring, has subsequently added some detail to that.
He added: “As I have said in several interviews, the fact that we have been able to create a title of the scale of Elden Ring now is largely due to the expansion of staff within the company, but I think that from now on we will be entrusting more projects to them.
“In fact, we are working on several titles directed by people other than myself,” he added. “I think we will be able to show you a different colour of direction for From Software, so please look forward to it.”
He added: “I am essentially a director, so when I come into contact with a title under development, I think about it a lot and want to say something about it.
“But in that case, I’m not the director, I’m not the subject of the vision, and I can’t take responsibility until the very end, so I feel that any unnecessary intervention would have a lot of negative effects on the game and the project.”
Miyazaki has also confirmed that he is already working on his next project as director.
He said: “As director, I’m already working on the next title. In the medium to long term, I’d like to work on a more abstract fantasy than the past titles.”
